Leogate Estate Wedding ~ Frida & Simon

I knew when I first started talking to Simon and Frida about their wedding that it was going to be a totally awesome one! But talk about a photogenic couple! Damn guys! You made my job so so easy!

The day started with both Simon and Frida and their bridal parties getting ready at Crowne Plaza in Pokolbin. Thankfully the boy’s and girl’s villas were not far from each other so I was able to duck back and forth between the two. Once everyone was ready we made our way to the ceremony location, which was held at one of my most favourite churches, Sacred Spaces in Singleton. This stunning chapel was once used by the nuns from the Sisters of Mercy Convent. As Frida arrived and started her walk down the corridors to the chapel, the wind picked up causing her stunning cathedral veil to billow out behind her! Pure magic! Their ceremony was just beautiful with their closest family and friends (a lot of Frida’s family had travelled from overseas to be here) lining the sides of the beautiful chapel space. There were many laughs and blessings before the ceremony concluded and we set to getting family portraits done. Whenever I’m in this beautiful space I always like to do them in the chapel itself rather than outside.

After the guests jumped in the bus to head back to the reception in Pokolbin, the bridal party and I set off around the beautiful grounds of the Convent to take some fun bridal party portraits. Once we’d finished there, we jumped in the cars and also set off for Pokolbin. Along the way we stopped off at a little dirt road coming off the highway just outside of Singleton for a few bridal portraits. The clouds were moody, the wind was… well, very windy. We had to keep holding onto Frida’s veil as the wind kept whipping it around… which did make for some incredible portraits! Then we set off again for Pokolbin, stopping at a few of my favourite locations before arriving at Leogate Wines for the reception.

Simon and Frida entered their reception to much cheers from their guests and the awesome tunes from the band. When it came time for Simon and Frida to make their speech, they treated all their guests to shots which caused everyone to erupt into more cheers. Frida’s sisters had also organised a slideshow and video presentation with messages from their friends that could not make it from overseas. One of the videos featured one of Frida’s friends jumping into icy cold water. Many laughs were had by everyone there. After the video had finished, it was time to cut the cake. Simon started by feeding a slice to Frida, followed by Frida mashing cake into Simon’s face! It was hilarious! Simon and Frida then performed their beautiful choreographed first dance and then the party really begun on the dance floor!

Thank you both for having me there to share your beautiful day! It was such an incredible day!
