Bella Vista Wedding ~ Emily + Matt

I was so stoked when Emily contacted me asking to shoot her wedding. I have known Emily for many years as she was once one of my dance students (for those that didn’t know, yup, I was a ballet teacher in a former life!). Emily and Matt’ special day was held at Bella Vista in Mayfeild, a venue I very much enjoy shooting at! The day started with Jason shooting Matt and his groomsmen/groomswoman getting ready in Carrington and I was at Bella Vista with the girls. The ceremony was held in front of all their nearest and dearest in the lush green gardens at the venue. The ceremony was lighthearted with many laughs throughout.

Afterwards we spent some time doing bridal party portraits on location at Bella Vista, before sneaking Emily ad Matt off for some couples portraits both around the venue and in Carrington. When we arrived in Carrington, Emily realised she had left her shoes back at the venue, and unfortunately the location I had picked was full of bindis. But never fear! Emily and I had the same size shoe and bindis don’t bother me as I have feet of steel due to many years of dancing on pointe, so I slipped off my sandals and Emily was set to keep going. When we shooting in a vacant block in Carrington we noticed a dog park not far behind us. And of course, a few dogs had spotted us. One brave poodle came running over to meet us and pose for a few photos too! By the time we had made our way further into Carrington the storm clouds were building and the wind was picking up. So what else do you do but twirl and dance in the middle of the road! We had a lot of laughs on location and we set off back to the reception with sore cheeks.

Once back and Bella Vista, Emily and Matt went in to mingle with guests for canape hour before making their official entry. I made freinds (and had many of my own portraits) with the resident cat, and then snuck off with one of the bridesmaids Emma (another former student of mine) to play with the dog hidden around the back.

When it came time for their official entry, the DJ pumped out “Let me see you peacock”, which resulted in many laughs as Mr and Mrs Peacock danced into the reception.

What a fun day! Thank you both for choosing me to be there to share your big day!
